180 BAR to KNEE SURGERY

The story below was emailed to us from Nation BMX rider Gary Nilsson in regurds to his recent knee injury and surgery...

In the begining of january i tried to 180 bar a spine and i got nervous so i took my foot off and put it down on the tranny and it pushed backwards and popped and i couldnt walk so i went to an ortho pedic doctor the next day told me i had to get an MRI and was on crutches got the MRI and went back to him and he told me that i tore a tendon called your miniscis on the side of your knee and took a chunk of cartilage about the size of your thumb nail out and would need a surgery with a week or two he also told me what i did to my knee has really no way of being fixed, and that this surgery works with some people so i just have to hope it works. now its been about a month since the surgery i have been keepin weight off it and i go back to the doctor next week for a check up and if everything goes right i should be riding again by may or june hopefully sooner

the pictures are from surgery the second one shows were the cartilage is damaged and were the torne tenden is.

We all wish him well and a quick recovery
